Belated Happy New Year 2020

Lisa and Yvonne are late in wishing all their friends a Happy New Year.  The ladies were too busy posing in their cute New Years outfits.......

They found these festive little Sparkle Girl outfits at their local Walmart.  They love Sparkle Girl outfits.  They are cute and cheap, so they can keep up with the latest fashions.

Lisa's dress is made of tiny little thin colorful hanging plastic tags (just on the front).  It really is cute!

Yvonne's gold lame' skirt has a little ruffle on the front simulating a wrap skirt.  Her teal sequined midriff top also sports a ruffle along the hem. Super cute!

Lisa and Yvonne (and me, too!) wish you all a safe, healthy and happy
New Year!

Clothes for Teens and Tweens

I am always looking for clothes to
fit Barbie's forgotten sister and her
friends.  I do have some of the Teen
Skipper Fashion Avenue outfits
but not enough to provide the
variety I like for my girls.

I have plenty of vintage Skipper
patterns but they are well, vintage
in style.  I have one Skipper pattern
from the 90's but haven't made
anything from it yet, outfits are
kinda ...meh.

Sparkle Girl outfits and some of
the current Barbie pak clothes
work well for these girls.  I picked
up a few new ones today at the
big W.

Teen Skipper Cassandra is wearing a
fabulous Sparkle Girl outfit of a knit
black skirt with suede-like fringe
overlay with yellow ribbon belt and
black/white geometric print knit top.
This outfit is so cute although the belts
can get tangled in the fringe.  Hula
Skipper Mary Elizabeth is wearing
a Barbie pak dress.  It's very sweet
on her but a bit too big at the top
and would probably fit Cassandra or
Francie better.

Finding shoes for these girls is a
problem in itself.  I think I got both
these pairs in a Barbie accessory pak.
The sandals fit Mary Elizabeth perfectly,
and surprisingly even though the black
Mary Jane's have a wedge they fit
Cassandra to a tee!

Pizza Party Skipper Daria is rockin'
an adorable Sparkle Girl outfit of shorts
with pom-pom trim and beautiful lace
top.  This top is so pretty and versitile
I think all the dolls will want to wear it.

Mary Elizabeth is wearing another Sparkle
Girl halter dress with iridescent colors
that match her hair.

Daria's shoes are from a Barbie accessory
pak and while the do fit her nicely they
are a bit of chore to get off.

Daria and Cassandra are both sporting
Sparkle Girl dresses here.  Daria's gives
a 2 piece look of denim skirt and knit
top but this is a dress.  Cassie's ready
to dance the night away in this cute black
lace and pink dress.  The fabric under
the bodice lace is a yellow print, an odd
choice I thought but it seems to work.

I didn't realize I had this dress until I
bought it again (maybe I have too much
doll clothes.....nah).  I think these might
be my favorite dresses.  They have a mod
60's vibe going and the pom pom trim is
adorable.

Cassie's dress is made of cotton while
Mary Elizabeth's is a nylon knit.  The
dresses are noticably different in size
with Mary Elizabeth's being smaller.
But they fit each of them perfectly. I
love em'.

Daria wanted something a little sparkly
too party in and this Sparkle Girl dress
fit the bill.  It also fits her very nicely
too with the waist being just a smidge
long.

The Sparkle Girl outfits seem to work the
best for the smaller Skipper dolls.  Depending
on the outfit Sparkle Girl also works for
Teen Skipper and vintage Francie.  The
Barbie dress paks work well for the larger
dolls.

Should They Stay or Should They Go.......

I have been cleaning out some dolls, mostly my
Ideal Miss Revlon's (had 45 of them at one time).
But am always rethinking my Barbie collection too.

I have had these So In Style dolls for quite
a few years, but have never really used them
or played with them.

I really think they are beautiful but I
am paring down my more modern
Barbies and am not sure about keeping
them.  Thought I would give them a
little shelf time with really cute outfits.
(These are some adorable Sparkle Girl
dresses.)

They have quite the stage presents don't
they?  Maybe a girl group story needs to
be fit in somewhere?  Hmmmm.....think
I'll leave them out for awhile and if a
group name hits me...well.....you never
know.

Fashion Friday

I've been very busy doing our
3 sets of tax returns (2 down 1 to
go, yeah!) plus we have been very
busy at work.  This has left me
little time or energy to do any-
thing creative.
So I thought I would just start
a little weekly entry on Friday's
to showcase some of the ladies
fashions.

Alexa (L) and Quinn (R) showing off
2 new Sparkle Girlz outfits.  Alexa's
is one piece........and quite short.  Quinn's
is two pieces and offers more styling
options.

Happy St. Patty's Day

Francie is celebrating St. Patty's day
in this cute little green Sparkle Girl
dress.  I love the fringe....very retro.

Gwendolyn is also stepping out to
celebrate the luck of the Irish in
this hot little number....also a new
Sparkle Girl dress (I surprised when
I found this.....their dresses aren't
usually this flashy or trashy).

Hope you have a Happy St. Patty's Day!

Mary Elizabeth and Kevin

Mary Elizabeth's new boyfriend, Kevin,
is teaching her to skateboard.

She is getting the hang of it.

Ah, young love......they are adorable.

Mary Elizabeth is wearing a new
Sparkle Girl dress and Kevin, surprisingly,
fits in current Ken clothes.....except for the
shoes.  This poor lad is going to be
wearing these periwinkle high tops the
rest of his plastic life!

HOT....Sparkle Girlz Outfits

There have been a lot of new Sparkle Girlz outfits
available at Walmart recently.  The outfits are
really hot and look great on the girls!
Kimberly and Kaelyn look fabulous in these leggings
with cute peplum tops.
Alexa and Quinn are ready for date night in these lovely frocks.
Eden and Nikki are ready for a night of dancing in these
sensational outfits.

Partying with Nikki and Bo Lin

I saved the last 2 Sparkle Girl dresses for Nikki and Bo Lin.
These 2 dresses were made for partying!  The girls look so
nice in them.
Nikki dress is a little short but they are just so pretty.  I am
kind of impressed with new designs.  Of the 6 new outfits I
picked up Eden's and Bo Lin's are my favorite but I like them
all.

Sparkle Girl Outfits for Everyone

I found several new Sparkle Girl outfits at a neighboring
Walmart.  I live in a tourist town and our Walmart is
geared toward that, and sometimes lags behind in
in the toy department.  So when I am "across the
bay" in a neighboring town I always stop in to check out
the toys.  I only chose 6 new outfits to go home with
me but there were several more.

I am always on the look out for ones that will fit
Mary Elizabeth and Daria.  These 2 dresses are so cute
on them!  I especially love the green and white one
on Daria, so preppy.
This dress was made for Eden, very Bohemian with the floral
ruffled print and the little faux suede belt.  And the little jacket
vest to top it off......too cute!
Regan insisted on wear this little....and I mean little number, as
she thinks it shows off her highlights.  It is cute and perfect
for a hot summer day.

I think I am going to have to go back and get the rest of the
new outfits, they are really cute.

Yes, More Sparkle Girl Outfits

Twins, Quinn and Alexa found some new Sparkle Girl
outfits at Walmart recently.  The top fabric in Quinn's
dress has been used previously but I like it with the
bright pink ruffled skirt.  Alexa's dress looks a little too
much like a tutu with the black net ruffling.

The fit on these is a little snug due to the ribbon crotch strap
they put on these dresses.  I thought of removing it but am
afraid the dress will ride up and you'll see their hoohah.  I
suppose I could be industrious and change the ribbon out
for elastic for a better fit.  But really who wants to put that
much work into $1.97 dress????

Anyway both girls' are happy with the new dresses.

Date Night -New Outfits

Kimberly and Ryan are heading out for date night.  Kimberly is wearing another new Sparkle Girl dress and crochet scarf she got for Christmas to ward off the evening chill.  Ryan is sporting a new outfit also.  He could be a gentleman and lend Kimberly his jacket but he can't because this cheap a$$ outfit has the jacket and tee shirt as one piece......that is velcroed in the back!  It also looks like he shrunk his pants.  I gotta make the boys some clothes........

More Sparkle Girl Fashions

Regan, Quinn and Eden are out shopping.  Don't they look adorable in these Sparkle Girl outfits? Oh to be young again!  Quinn's outfit (center) is 2 pcs, leggings and tunic, so cute!  Eden's has that funky little denim vest, so trendy.

I am hoping they issue more mix and match outfits this year, that would really add to their wardrobes.  One of my goals this year is to make more outfits for the BB Barbies.  I haven't been to thrilled with the outfits offered by Mattel.
