June Brides Revisited

June is usually Bridal month but with the pandemic many, many weddings have been postponed.  So here are some beautiful brides to hopefully brighten your day.

I made this simple tea length wedding dress a few years ago, along with the attendants dresses.  I love the simplicity of this style and my own wedding dress was similar except with long sleeves.

I no longer have this doll or dress but Wedding Day Midge was a sight in all her lace and dotted swiss glory.

I made this wedding gown including the veil and bouquet for a former neighbor in honor of her daughter's wedding.

One recent Christmas I got 7 NRFB wedding gowns.  They were all very beautiful but I like the simpler ones best, # 4 is my favorite.

I never had an original Barbie wedding gown growing up I had a knock-off or clone one.  But it was much prettier than any of the Barbie vintage gowns.  Somehow, somewhere it got lost.....I wish I still had it but may be in my memory it is more beautiful than it was.........

Thanks for stopping by......

Fashion Avenue #25702 and #25755

Here are the other two Fashion Avenue
outfits I got in my package deal.

#25702 is Party in Pink.  The dress is
really cute, kind of a 60's vibe going on.
The pink Mary Jane pumps are just
adorable!

#25755 is Midsummer Ball.  The outfit
is actually a beautiful soft yellow.  Very
summery!

When you search eBay for Fashion
Avenue outfits as much as I do you
see which outfits are more common.
Of these four outfits I have only seen
2 of them before so was not just happy
with my bargain price but also happy
to snag a few of the more elusive
outfits!

Fashion Avenue #22155 and #23022

Next to the 60's Vintage outfits the
Fashion Avenue line is my favorite.  I always
scour eBay looking for deals.....I got 4
of them for $8.25 each including shipping!

Here are #22155 from the Coat Collection
and #23022 from the Lifestyles Collection.

I love the coat, it's a textured faux leather.
And the ladies will be needing some winter
wear.

The other one is okay.  What I really love
are the lugged sole red booties.  I wish I
had a pair!

Check back to see the other two outfits!

Cassie's Photo Shoot Fashion Avenue #18379

Cassandra is doing her first photo shoot
for her modeling portfolio.

Cassie is looking hip in this long black
skirt with thigh slits on both sides and
midriff baring top.  She completes her
trendy look with lime green high tops.

These pics are sure to get her some
modeling gigs!

Skipper Fashion Avenue 'Spring Break' #25753

Cassandra is modeling the outfit she
received for Christmas.  The strapless
dress is cute and fits nice.

I like addition of the short jean jacket
for cool spring nights.  Now that bag,
I need that bag, love the trapezoid
shape!

Cassie is going to be breakin' hearts
this spring break.

I Was Good This Year!

Santa thought I was a good girl this year
and gave me some very nice presents!

Some arm candy for the ladies.  Great
Date Ken, aka Edward and Movie Date
Ken, aka Andrew.  My collection of
Kens with rooted hair grows!

Of course the guys need proper attire to take the
ladies out!

Some furniture and accessories for future dioramas.
They will need a coat of paint though!

Trying to expand Francie and Skipper's wardrobes.
The Francie 'Gad About' outfit is a reproduction.
The groovy pink polyester pants suit is for Francie/
Becky.  Not sure if it is a reproduction or vintage, will
need to do some research.  The Skipper 'Town Togs'
is vintage, only missing the belt! The Skipper
Fashion Avenue is super cute, love the little jeans
jacket.

Saw this doll and had to put her on my
list.....she is so cute and different from
past Barbies, very Poppy Parker.  Trying
to decide on her name.....it will come to me.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Meet the New Guy: Marine Corp Ken #5352 1991

Honestly I don't know what my problem is
lately.....I was suppose to have this up on
Weds., for Veteran's Day.

Meet Captain Derrick Montgomery, U.S.M.C.

Derrick is an old friend of Steve Lundin's.
They met in high school and attended the
same college and were even roomies.  After
graduation, Derrick joined the Marines and
entered OCS.

He has recently returned from deployment
and since he doesn't know anyone Lydia
fixed him up with Sabine for the Veteran's
Ball.

Sabine is wearing Fashion Avenue #14980.
They look very nice together but this is
a first date......not sure if it is going
anywhere.

A belated salute to all our veterans, thank
you for your service and sacrifice.

A Day at Lydia's Bridal

I have room for one diorama at a time, so
if I want to move on to something else the
current project has to come down.  And so
comes the end of Lydia's Bridal Salon.

But before I take it down I thought I might
try my hand at a little storyline of sorts.

Lydia arrives at the salon where a
shipment of merchandise awaits unpacking.

More shoes! You can never have too
many shoes.

Lydia's friend Trisha arrives with a
vintage frame she found that goes
perfect on the wall.

Trisha is an excellent photographer
and is going to help Lydia put
together a brochure for the salon.
Several of their friends will be the
models.

Lydia thinks Megan is ready for her
photo.

Lindsey is going for a beach wedding
look, no veil.

Okasana looks like a Russian princess
in this velvet and fur trim dress.

Sabine is gorgeous in this simple A-line
dress.

Halaina looks beautiful in this traditional
style with lots of lace.

This mermaid style gown really shows
off Phoebe's curves.

There is on last dress to to be photographed
and Lydia has chosen Trisha to model it.

Trisha might be the most beautiful
bride ever in this stunning halter gown.

Trisha will make a gorgeous bride
someday, but Daryl hasn't popped
the question yet!

All of our models looked beautiful!

Fashion Avenue # 14980-15852 1996

I got this outfit in a lot of 4.  It wasn't my favorite
of the group and I wasn't sure who it would look
good on so I put it away.
I was getting ready to change Sabine out of her Animal
Kingdom uniform and remembered I had this outfit.
It's perfect for a weekend trip to the city.

I think it was made for her,  she looks
perfect!

Fashion Avenue - Evening Bouquet #25702 1998 and Teen Skipper Fashion #18379 1998

Megan and Cassandra are off to take in a
matinee performance of 'Godspell'.  Both are
looking quite bohemian in these Fashion Avenue
outfits.  Megan's outfit is one of my favorites, I
really like the embroidery on the shell, very nice
touch.

Fashion Avenue Boutique # 18378 - 1997

Megan is ready for school in this plaid jumper, turtleneck
and leggings.  The 3/4 boots and bucket bag complete
her look.
I also got Megan in a box lot and believe she is Bead
Blast barbie.  She has a very sweet face.

Fashion Avenue. Jeans Coll. # 20600 - 1998

Lindsey looks cute in this outfit but those flood pants....what
were they thinking.  The crop top and jacket are great to
pair with other pieces.
I got Lindsey in a box lot on eBay.  It took awhile but I
think I finally found out who she is ....a Kmart exclusive,
Route 66 Barbeque Bash.  She has a very serene face.

Fashion Avenue 'Meet Me at the Ballet' #25702-56110. - 2001

Nikki looks super cute for her evening at the ballet.  This outfit
came with the most adorable compact and lipstick.....

I think this outfit was made for Nikki, she looks great in this outfit.
I was surprised at how well it fit her, usually the older outfits are a
little big on the Fashionista dolls.  I think it fits ok because it's a
knit.

It Was A Barbie Christmas

Okay, and one Ken.  I got everything a girl could ask for and then some.  Here's the haul...um, I mean gifts I received from The Husband:

I prefer the Hallmark Barbie ornaments to the American Greetings.  I just think their face sculpts are better.  This one is unique to me as her skirt is actual fabric.
I love this Barbie and Ken case.  It is in fantastic condition and the bright red will look great with all my other cases.  Ken will now have someplace to store his meager wardrobe.  I love Barbie books and while this one does not have pictures of every doll in a line, it is still a good reference guide with item # and years.
A new Fashion Avenue outfit for my collection and an accessory pack.  The pack is from my neighbor who gave me the doll in the previous post.  Love those boots!
I didn't even know that the Classique line had some individual outfits until I came across this one on Amazon.  I think I will have to put the others on my birthday wish list!
What's Christmas without a new doll or two!  I think the Sun Gold Malibu Barbie is so pretty!  I have the AA Barbie and Ken and want to get all the rest in line.  I wanted this Ken because he looked soooo Miami Vice, especially with the color change hair.  He will charm my 80's and 90's ladies.
Read em' and weep ladies....6 count em', SIX bridal gowns!  There is a bridal salon diorama in my future.
The Husband picked out this gift all by himself and it is my favorite of everything.  Three oil on canvas designs by Robert Best. I don't think they are originals or even signed prints, but I love them.  I have the perfect spot in my sewing room/doll room/office.
