More Model Muses in the House

I really like the Barbie Basic dolls.
They remind me of what Barbie's
original career was a teen fashion
model.  I find a lot of the new dolls
too youngish looking for me and
prefer the sophisticated look of these

As I was perusing Ebay one evening
I came across these 3 dolls from
Collection 003, which I call the
swimsuit edition.  I already had a
doll from this collection, #05, who I
call Taryn.  Since there are only 6
dolls in this collection and I already
had ONE....and here were 3 more
sitting in front of me at a very
attractive might be fun to
collect the entire group.  So...

only 2 more to go now!!!!

Fiona Arther, our fiery Irish lass.

Ellery Kenrick, the fair English girl

Georgene Stepanek, the eastern european

Taryn Winoto,  an exotic mix of
Indonesian and Irish

I like the diversity of faces with this
small collection.  Only 2 more to get,
the blond in the fuchsia suit and the
AA in the yellow suit with the gorgeous
head of hair......she will be the hardest
to find at a decent price.

  1. Hi Chris. I have 3 of the 4 of those dolls and they still bring me a lot of joy! And they redress well! I'm sure you will really enjoy them as much as I do. Can't wait to see how you dress them.

    1. Well, I think I will be visiting your blog for tips on pattern drafting because these ladies will not fit any of my vintage patterns.......

  2. They are all pretty. I think Taryn is my favorite.

    1. Taryn and Ellery are my favs at the moment.....

  3. I really do like this collection. The Barbie Basics line was such a nice collection, but I wish that all of them had had the articulated bodies! I do own all of these ladies!

    1. I do think the articulated ones are best for dioramas, but I don't care for the look of the joints.

  4. Beautiful! And I love the names you've selected. My friends and I were just talking the other day about the sophisticated and diverse faceups in the Barbie Basics line. Happy hunting as you try to complete the collection.

    1. Thanks....I love names, sometimes I think I may collect dolls just to name them, LOL!
