Taryn and Natalya

Most of the clothes I have fit the older Barbie
figure so the Basic/Model Muse girls do not
have a lot of options.  I was happy to find that
some of the newer outfits for the BB Barbies
will fit them.........so they raided the BB Girls
closet to show them how it done.......

Looking good,  Ladies!

Meet the Doll: Barbie Basic Coll. 003. Model 05 2012

Here is my third Barbie Basic (for now) Taryn.
I think of her as a modern Kira/Miko.
If you have been following my blog, you know I have been
freeing all my dolls from the confines of their boxes.  And I
am so glad that I decided to do it.  Some of these dolls
have some "issues" from being boxed for so long.  Here
is Taryn out of the box:
Her bathing suit stuck to her and left residue behind.
It was easy to clean in this case but on some dolls
that have been boxed for 20, 30 or more years the
issues can be more severe.

So I say debox those ladies (and gents).

Besides taking them out of the box to play is so much
fun!

Meet the Dolls: Barbie Basic Coll. 1 Model 09 2010

I really like the Barbie Basic/Model Muse dolls.  I just think they are so sophisticated and classic looking.  They remind of a modern version of the older classic Barbie's.  They seem to carry off that persona of "teenage fashion model" that was Barbie's beginning.

I only own 3 of these dolls, not because I don't want more, I just have a hard time finding the ones I want at a reasonable price but I have my eye on a few.

You've met my favorite, Roxanne Benevento (Coll. Red Model 03) already but here is my next favorite, Natalya, Coll. 001 Model 09.
A modern American Girl!
A real looker!  I like the hand on her hip....showing some
moxie!

Yes, More Sparkle Girl Outfits

Twins, Quinn and Alexa found some new Sparkle Girl
outfits at Walmart recently.  The top fabric in Quinn's
dress has been used previously but I like it with the
bright pink ruffled skirt.  Alexa's dress looks a little too
much like a tutu with the black net ruffling.

The fit on these is a little snug due to the ribbon crotch strap
they put on these dresses.  I thought of removing it but am
afraid the dress will ride up and you'll see their hoohah.  I
suppose I could be industrious and change the ribbon out
for elastic for a better fit.  But really who wants to put that
much work into $1.97 dress????

Anyway both girls' are happy with the new dresses.

Let's Hear It For The Boys: Ken-Barbie & the Rockers # 3131 1986

When I saw this guy I had to have him.......that hair!  He's
soooo 80's!  Also he looks just Daryl Hall from Hall and
Oats, so of course he is now Daryl.

If you have this doll in the box (I got him boxed) you may
want to remove him like I did.  The jumpsuit he is wearing
is made of some strange lame' vinyl type fabric as is the coat.
The pants stuck to his legs and left a sticky residue.  I had
to bath him several times and he is still a little tacky.
I am amassing quite a few Kens and this guy is one of  my
favs!

Barbie and Midge Around Town

Barbie and her BFF Midge are out for an afternoon.

Barbie is wearing a blouse and slacks from the vintage
cotton mix and match group (1962-63).

Midge is wearing a tunic top and slacks made by me from
a vintage pattern.

Comfy, casual outfits for a stroll around town.

Butterfly Art Barbie #20359, Kira #20362 and Ken #22995

I didn't buy any dolls through Lent, but 3 days after it ended I picked up these beauties!

Meet Angie. I think she is a real stunner.
I have been looking for an Asian doll and think this Kira
is one of the prettiest.  She looks just like an old friend of
mine.
This is Tomas.  I think he's a little dorky looking, looks a little
like Tom Cruise, but I love the Ken's with rooted hair
so I had to have him.

They are all a great addition to my collection.
